La canzone che chiedi è stata scritta da Bennie Benjamin, Gloria Caldwell e Sol Marcus e fu portata al successo dalla cantante soul NINA SIMONE (1933-2003) nel 1964 con l'album Broadway-Blues-Ballads.
In seguito è stata cantata da tanti altri, tra i quali quelli riporati sopra.
