Don't say "excitado" in this case because this word in portuguese has sexual conotations. It means "sexually aroused" so you definetely don't want to use it.
You could say instead something like: "Eu estou super contente de você ter concordado em participar."
Super contente = very excited

(Gostaríamos que concorde em participar)
In the first case, all of us already know that the guy "agreed" ...
In the second case, we still do not know if the guy "will" agree...
Got it? better you get it... cause if you do not got it, you get it... got it?.
You shall say "explicitado" instead of "excitado"... got it?
Because "Excitado" means "to have a hard on"....

Some expressions you can not translate word by word. As it happens to this one. So it would be correct in portuguese to say them the in following ways:
1 : It is pleased that you have agreed to participate :É prazeroso , me deixa feliz (as people don´t say that, it would be better to say: ótimo) É ótimo que vc concordou em participar.
2: Would be pleased if you agree to participate : Seria ótimo se você concordasse em participar.
These ways wouldn't sound bad, and people would understand what you mean.
