***你看一下以下這些例句 大概就會有些概念了:
I don't like this hat. 我不喜歡這頂帽子,
--Show me another (= another hat). 請拿另外(除了這頂之外的)任ㄧ頂給我看
--Show me some others (= other hats). 請拿幾頂別的給我看
--Show me the other (= the other hat). 請拿(已選擇的兩個的)另外一頂給我看
--Show me the others (= the other hats). 其他的帽子請全部拿給我看

other是形容詞,指其他的,數目不知或不拘.例 Some other people may agree with me.the other是形容詞或代名詞,指除了這個或這些以外的(已知數),可以是單數或複數.例 I have a meeting on Monday next week and nothing on the other days. Two guys showed up, one in red and the other in blue. others是代名詞,指其他多數(已知或未知數),例 He has finished the test.
