in addition和 on the other hand

in addition是用於補充 另外加上的情況
例如: He is an expert marksman. In addition, he rides well. （他是一個神射手。除此以外, 他還擅長騎馬。)

on the other hand則是用於指一件事的另外一面或是反面的情況
例如: He is an expert marksman. On the other hand, he is a novice at driving. (他是一個神射手。 但在另一方面, 他是開車新手。)

in addition和on the other hand的最大差異在於指事物的同一面或另一面
由以上例句可以看出, 神射手和擅長騎馬都是在描述此人擅長的項目, in addition用來追加所擅長的項目, 達到補充的目的。 而神射手和開車新手指的是一個人擅長跟不擅長的項目, on the other hand用來表示同一事物的另一面。
