\"He lay in bed\"跟\"He lay on the bed\"在意義上有何不同？又該在什麼context用in bed 或 on the bed？煩請知者解答，謝謝。：）

He lay on the bed. - - 他在床上躺著(不ㄧ定在睡覺)

"He lay in bed" is in the bed not on the bed, we sleep on the bed not in the bed.
"He lay in bed"是指說在床裡, 床的裡面是床上 "on the bed"

最好辨別的方法就是有沒有用棉被蓋住
有蓋棉被的話就會說 He is lying in bed.
如果他不是睡覺只是純粹躺在床上沒有蓋被子的話
就會說He lies on the bed and reads newspaper.
