It is a contraction of am not.
Used also as a contraction for are not, is not, has not, and have not.

However, "ain't" is frequently used among southern people. I have found that many African-Americans, Hicks, and Southern idividuals use "ain't" more than "isn't," while northerners stick to "isn't."
