民國六十年也就是七零年是個音樂多元的年代，一方面搖滾樂正興盛，各式搖滾紛紛出爐，前衛搖滾、民謠搖滾、古典搖滾、加州搖滾、南方搖滾、鄉村搖滾、硬式搖滾、流行搖滾、華麗搖滾、酸搖滾、藍調搖滾，百家爭鳴，此時龐克搖滾也剛起步，雖然尚未成熟。另一方面放克、靈魂樂與旋律藍調也是蓬勃發展。然而真正在這個年代，尤其是七零年代後期具有決定性潮流影響的卻是迪斯可舞曲。
