I thought we (both of us) should calmly get down.
如果改成這樣呢? 你們覺得會不會很奇怪呢? 拜託跟我講一下啦>_

原來的說法比較好。
I think we both should calm down.
或是I think we should both calm down,比較口語化一點。
Calmly get down就不太對了。
Get down字面上有趴下、倒下的意思,但是在一般使用上,特別是男女之間,有『親熱一下』的引申涵義。所以一般來說是跟異姓在很親暱的時候會說,you wanna get down?不會是再吵架的時候。
在俚語上,Get down也有『打架』的引申涵義,吵架時撂下一句You wanna get down?下一不就是要打架了。
冷靜還有另一個說法,就是Cool heads,所以以你的情形來說,你可以跟另一半說I think we should cool our heads a little bit.
e.g. I think maybe we should cool our heads a bit, and then talk this over.

這要看你指的”冷靜”及”一下”意思為何
“冷靜一下”可當 = Calm Down 情況用於在當時吵架中, 必須冷靜 (形容動作).
= Cool Down 情況用於在給予冷靜時間 (內心)
= Time a part 情況用於分開一陣子來冷靜
因你寫了”吵架後”, 所以應當不是 Calm Down (動作上)
但我一以下三個詞造句
在John與他的女友吵架時,我想要提醒雙方要冷靜一下
When John was having a fight with his girl friend, I wanted to remind both of them to calm down
我與我的女友吵架後,我提醒雙方要冷靜一下
After the fight with my girl friend, I reminded both of us need a time to cool down
與他的女友吵架後,Jason 提醒雙方要冷靜一下
After the fight with his girl friend, Jason wanted to remind both sides to have a time a part
