這國家中有位深受國王疼愛的美麗公主。然而，公主卻和一個窮小子陷入了情網。國王知道後大為震怒，下令將那位青年帶到競技場接受審判。
在競技場中，青年平靜且深情的望著場邊的公主。他知道，公主一定知道那兩扇門後分別是什麼東西。他將他的命運交給公主來決定。傷心的公主黯然的指著其中一扇門後就離開了。片刻後，競技場處傳來極大的喧囂聲。
這個故事到這裡就結束了，沒人知道那位青年最後的下場如何。但當我聽完這個故事，並不好奇結果如何，只為那位公主感到深深的悲哀。我覺得，國王不是在懲罰青年。他在懲罰自己的女兒，因為不論如何公主都會失去他心愛的人。青年的舉動也不是體貼，他讓公主為他做出抉擇卻不知道這樣的抉擇對公主而言是多大的折磨。如果我是那位公主，我會在第一時間離開競技場，不讓那兩個男人凌遲我的心。
