老師教了:\"How may I help you?\"
這是我第一次聽到
老師說這是在國外很常聽見的一句話，
可是我公公和老公都說”不可能吧！”
（他們的英文也都很好,
但沒有在國外長期待過～）
想請問大家：

這句話是常聽見而且沒問題的吧？

This phrase is "grammatically correct", but we don't ususally use it.
First, "May I help you?" is quite the same as "Can I help you?". So while we can say "How can I help?", then, "How may I halp you?" is also OK!
But, "can" and "may" is not the same!!! "May I help you" is a polite way to ask. It is already a very comon used phrase, it's 約定俗成! We cannot just put a "can" if you like...
Moreover, the "how" is totally useless and unnecessary! Let's think about it! If you ask "May I help you?", that means you want to help. So, the "how" make the whole thing very clumsy.
