這裡有一些例子,你可以看看~~
此片語連接兩個單字或是片語的時候，只要注意詞性結構問題即可。
這種情況並不會讓讀者或者使用者產生混淆的情形，簡單舉例如下：
(1) He ate not only instant noodles but also a big hamburger for lunch.
=> (他午餐不只吃泡麵還吃了一個大漢堡.)
(2) I want not only to participate in the contest but also to win the first prize.
=> (我不僅想要參加比賽還想贏得第一名.)
(3) Not only you but also I am very confused.
=> (不只是你, 就連我也感到很困惑)
(4) He is not only a troublemaker but also a hard nut to crack.

從上面看來，「not only "A" but also "B"」句型口氣偏重於強調後者。
因為 "also(還有～也是)" 表示追加的語氣，所以強調"B"是可以理解的。
須注意，如果此句型連接兩個主要子句的時候。
因為 not only 是否定語氣的副詞，所以放在句首要用倒裝句型。
這邊需要特別留意一下在這種用法裡面 "also" 的位置。
正常情況下 "also"是放在句中來修飾,而不是放在句首。
所以下面這個句子我們分析一下：
He not only passed the exam but also scored at the top.
(1) He passed the exam.
(2) He scored at the top. ---> 比較強調這句
於是我們利用倒裝句構來改寫：
Not only did he pass the exam, but he also scored at the top.
注意到上面句子當中 also 的位置，千萬不要寫成下面的句子：
Not only did he pass the exam, but also he scored at the top. ---> 錯誤!
會有這樣的誤用是因為大家在學習的過程中都只是拘泥於句型演練。
而忽略了單字最基本的用法。這樣的誤用也會產生下面用法的誤解。
關於這一組片語形式的對等連接詞「not only... but also... 」，
它的靈魂角色就完全在於 but 這一個單字，它是個對等連接詞。
其他的單字只是本著自己「副詞」的特性而來烘托出這種語氣。
所以 also省略沒關係，頂多只是「還有～」的語氣變弱便罷了。
但是就是不可省略"but"，不然的話句子就真的沒有連接詞了喔。

動詞是要擺在not only 的後面，加上這是澄述一件事(現在式主詞第三人稱+s)，所以應該是：
He not only hates dogs but also cates. (名詞一樣可以省略)

是後面要接同性質的詞
如果以第一個例句來看
應該是He hates not only dogs but also cats.
因為dogs和cats都是名詞 , 若是用He not only hates dogs but also hates cats.的話
用兩個hates稍嫌累贅
若是第二個例句
因為rained和snowed同屬動詞過去式 , 而且是唯一可用的地方 , 所以沒問題
