to 夏天87:the person asked for 我要出門買東西.not 我要去購物 so i don't think u should be using the word "shopping", if it's me, i ll say "i am going to buy something."

to a0929259082: I assumed that the person meant "shopping" because "I'm going to buy something" sounds very specific, and 我要出門買東西 doesn't, well, not really. If it was 我要出門買個東西, then I'd say the way you said. But anyway, thx for the suggestion.
