the initial D in D–day is not an abbreviation of anything, it is taken from the word day and represents a variableD–Day 的 D 並不是任何一個東西的縮寫 D 只是從 Day這個字拿來的而已然後它代表了一個變數The terms D–Day and H–hour are used for the day and hour on which a combat attack or operation is to be initiatedD–Day和H–Hour 只是個術語被用在決定發動任務或戰鬥攻擊行動的時間和日期D–Day 的 D 沒有什麼特別的涵意它只是美軍的一個術語最早使用這些術語的是第一次世界大戰中的美軍。

The Meaning of the "D"Ever since June 6, 1944, people have been asking what the "D" in "D-Day" means. Does it stand for "decision?" The day that 150,000 Allied soldiers landed on the shores of Normandy was certainly decisive. And with ships, landing craft and planes leaving port by the tens of thousands for a hostile shore, it is no wonder that some would call it "disembarkation" or "departed."
