Tourism plays an increasingly important role in Taiwan and the government, private enterprises, and the public are working hand in hand to make the island a pleasant place where travelers can conveniently visit scenic and cultural attractions of international standard. In a new major effort to highlight the best of Taiwan's tourist attractions, the government has just approved an ambitious “Tourism Flagship Plan”.
