There are three kinds of cables we often use to measure the electric signals: coaxial cables with BNC connectors, twisted-pair cables with banana plus connectors, and coaxial cables with SMA connectors. When I measure a signal with different kinds of cables or different lengths of cables, I will get different results in my measurement. Why? Explain the phenomenon by the following cables properties between the cables mention above:

BNC接頭是1940以發明人Bayonet Neill Concelman 命名,使用頻寬DC~4GHz,Impedance有50及75歐姆,Insertion Loss約0.2dB使用範圍相當廣,早期電腦連結至現在工業儀器及常見的監視系統都會用到
SMA接頭1960年代,是SubMiniature version A的縮寫,使用頻寬DC~18GHz,Impedance目前有50歐姆,Insertion Loss約0.09dB使用範圍相當廣,工業儀器,車用,航空及無線網路外接天線都會用到
以上二種屬同軸接頭,所以會搭配同軸電纜coaxial cables
banana接頭屬於一般電器測試接頭,多用於一般家用音源及電器,及電器測試頭,頻寬低於100MHz,50歐姆,搭配雙絞線Twisted Pair Cable

頻寬的範圍我補充一下雖然SMA是到達18GHz,但以目前的市場指開發到6GHz特性就算很好了,其他一些國家只使用到2.4 2.5GHz!

其實這3種接頭都很常見,差異在shielding的有無與接觸面的介面品質.而Cable差異在集膚效應的大小.這方面的專業,Agilent(安捷倫)這公司最熟了.(1) BNC connector
