樂團的資料

George Michael是Wham雙人樂團的一員.
他們在1981年組團, 當時的New Wave音樂正蓄勢待發要成為流行歌壇的王道.
他們最早有有首歌Wham Rap, 靠這支單曲和SONY簽約. 並於1983年發行首張
專輯Fantastic!, 除了收錄Wham Rap, 還有一首單曲Young Guns也很紅.
80年代中期, 科技掀起波濤, 電腦熱潮, 資訊科技濫觴; CD準備代替黑膠唱片成為
新寵; CNN、MTV等頻道開台, 有線電視業變成當紅炸子雞; 經濟有著一番榮景,
很多台灣產業也在那時起步; 雅痞次文化興起; New Wave藝人打扮華麗, 影響到
青少年穿著, 衣服都帶有墊肩增加帥氣(現在看起來俗, 也許過兩年又流行了)...
這應算當時的"若干"時代背景.
就中, MTV台帶動熱門音樂視覺化, 各唱片公司紛紛推出藝人的音樂錄影帶,
而且越拍越好, 最經典的當屬Michael Jackson的Thriller.
Wham自然不能免俗出了幾支Music Video, 但內容普普不值一書, 倒是在音樂上
有不同凡響的表現. 1984年專輯Make It Big推出後掀起樂壇狂潮, 金曲一支接一支
, 分別為Wake Me up Before You Go-Go、Careless Whisper、Everything She Wants和
Freedom, Careless Whisper也是年終單曲冠軍.
而你所說的Last Chritmas是走紅於1985年, 尤其接近耶誕節時更是舞會必播曲,
也被收錄在Wham第三張大碟Music from the Edge of Heaven裡.
Wham不斷推出單曲而且支支動聽, 不過創作皆來自於George Michael之手, 目光
焦點自然落在他一人身上, 相對另一團員Angrew Ridgeley就變得櫻櫻美代子.
這樣的組合再也維持不下去了, 1986年Wham解散.
George Michael並不是爆紅, 而是真的有才華. 他個人首張專輯Faith, 他包辦所有
詞曲創作和多項樂器演奏. 此專輯五顆星評等, 全球銷售一千餘萬張.
