通常不好的東西,大家都要賴到外來的影響所以在早期,性病他們舊稱為 "French pox, French disease"而French泛指 " bad language" 所以當說的人忍不住說一些國罵 ( eg. Fxxk ...)就會再加一句" Forgive my French." " Excuse my French." (對不起 我說髒話)

通常 他們會在講完髒話(或是黃色的話) 後 加上"Excuse My Frech". 就是說, 他們知道自己講的事不禮貌的話, 但如果假裝那是 French (法文) 的話, 也許別人就可以諒解他們. 因為在法國, 對於情色 是比較包容的.

這句話其實很好笑，最先起源於英國
古時英法常因政治利益交惡或戰爭
因此若英國人不小心、無意間說出粗話或髒字
就會說"excuse my French"
字面上看似"原諒我的法文"
其實就是告訴大家"原諒我的髒話"的意思
