Macbeth Essay

Macbeth, which is one of the most well-known and greatest plays written by William Shakespeare, is about ambition and the bad side of humanity. It describes the thoughts and feeling of ambitious people, their aggressive and obsessive minds, and the struggle inside their hearts.

Macbeth
The leading character, Macbeth, portrays the role who expresses all of these. At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is described as a hero who is never afraid of anything; he had won many battles, defeating the enemies he faced, but his mind was easily moved by the three witches, which exhausted all his faith in good and leads him to his downfall. He became a cruel and cold-blooded man, who could kill anyone just because of his ambition to be a king. He even wants to kill Macduff and his family just to make sure that they do not become an obstacle to his plans.

Lady Macbeth
This character goes against the stereotype of a woman in Shakespearian times which, I think, is mild and delicate. Her opening soliloquy expresses what she is thinking and what she is attempting to do, which makes the audience imagine what kind of things she will do next and allows the audience to understand more about the play. She is also an ambitious woman. She will do anything she wants no matter how unjust it is. She wants her husband to be a king so desperately that she can do anything no matter how cruel it is. It is she that motivates her husband to kill Duncan, who is a good king and is well-supported by the people. Afterwards she can even pretend that she is kind and innocent. What a terrible woman!

The Witches
The witches, who are so old and dressed so strangely, add a sense of secrecy and darkness to the play. They can make predictions to attract people, whose minds are not steady, to do the wrong things. For example, they made a prediction that Macbeth will be king which motivates Macbeth to murder Duncan. So they are the culprits behind the scene as well. In Act 4 they even make up illusions to influence Macbeth to do more terrible things and lead him to his downfall. They are portrayed as mysterious beings throughout the play. Although all the things about them are unknown, they aid in charting the direction in which the play progresses.

After all, the play ends up having a good ending. The evil tyrant is killed and the real king comes back to the throne. In my opinion, all the witches, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are equally guilty; they should all be blamed for their crimes. However, the man who can mostly be held responsible for the murder of Duncan and Macbeth’s downfall is Macbeth himself. He could not resist the attractive predictions made by witches and his wife’s instigation; in fact, he is an ambitious man as well. And it is because of what he has done that made him lose his faith in good and become afraid of the punishment he is going to accept, leading him to his downfall.

電腦電影~
The computer is a product of advanced civilization and its invention, according to some people, signals the advent of a Second Industrial Revolution. Formerly a bulky machine that demanded much space, the computer is now becoming smaller and smaller and scientists have made it more sophisticated and accordingly more useful. As is generally known, the computer can do a wide range of work, including complex computation and analyses. People now also use it as a teaching aid in designing. An infinite variety of software can be put into the computer, which explains why it is so powerful. There is, however, one thing which we should bear in mind: that the computer cannot think but man can. So there need not be any fear that someday the computer will control us and all we should expect is try our best to bring it to perfection. A computer age is not a pipe dream and there will come a day when most of our needs can be met by this wonderful machine.
