這首由 Michael Skloff 作曲、Allee Willis 作詞的歌曲原本是為邁克爾•斯蒂普和娜特莉-麥錢特度身定做的，但這兩名歌手拒絕出演。於是，劇組想到了由兩名喜歡穿黑衣、戴墨鏡的歌手丹尼-懷爾德 (Danny Wilde)和菲爾-索利姆(Phil Solem)組成的“倫勃朗”樂團。樂界普遍認為，這兩個人有類似約翰-列儂和喬治-麥卡特尼般的和諧聲音。

Danny Wilde 和 Phil Solem都是在1956年出生，成長在搖滾黃金年代。1976年兩人在洛杉磯的一個歌舞酒店裏相識，到拍攝《Friends》主題曲時已經整整相識了十八年。兩個人直到1990年才成立了“倫勃朗”，這個名字借用自一位十七世紀荷蘭的偉大畫家，只是在倫勃朗的名字後面加了一個表示複數的-s。
