"be + of + N" 有時就等於 "be + Adj.", "of + N"是當主詞補語的意思常見的用法有:The tool is of great use.= The tool is very useful.The job is of importance.= The job is important.It can be of great help.= It can be very helpful.所以The earthquake was of a magnitude指的就是地震的級數很大,再加上形容詞子句that was very scary修飾magnitude就表示級數大到嚇人!! 此外,用of a magnitude是因為magnitude沒有形容詞
