take cost spend這三個字的用法?都是"花"的意思,動詞吧?有什麼不一樣呢?

1. 花時間
It took me 30 minutes to finish my homework.
=I spent 30 minutes finishing/on my homework.
2. 花錢
It cost(三態同型) me 100 dollars buying that toy.
=I spent 100 dollars buying/on that toy.
以上是最常見的用法。spend兩個通殺,主詞用人,後面加V-ing或on;而花時間用take,花金錢用cost(s),主詞用it(雖然文法書上take有用人當主詞的,但一般不這麼說,且被視為不好的英文),後面加to-V。就這麼簡單。

cost前面放的是你花錢買的東西
It cost just a penny. (意指很便宜)
絕對不能說 I cost.....錯錯錯....
spend "前面"則是放"主詞"
This little tiny thing cost me a lot= I spent a lot on this little tiny thing!
但若是用在時間上
只能把"主詞"放在spend之前
I spent ages to finish this work.
(我花了超久才完成這作業)
Take 前面放 it 是最常見的...後面接時間
It took me ages to finish.(我花了超久時間才完成的)

spend 和 cost 都用在花錢上面
但 差異在
spend+Ving
cost +to V
而spend 和 take 則適用在花"時間"上面
差異性跟上面一樣
spend+Ving
take +to V
