不是.....而是......是接著前一句說的It is not(不是) because they are "closet social psychologists" or "closet sociologists." Instead(而是), the interest is driven, to a large degree, by a different consideration. 有錯誤請大家指正

我是提倡流暢、通順的中文句子。
所以假如是我，會將 It is not because they are ... 翻成 「別認為他們是...」；而 Instead, the interest is driven, ... 順理成章就可以翻成「其實, 他們的興趣...」。
