soy yo, not only the hugh & kiss!
but my italian neighboor seems to be more open to invite someone to take a dinner or a drink together.

german do not open the doors if you knock it.

Italians are for attitude passionate and open with people in general, and of course with close friends. To be honest, I have to say that I've found Germans quite friendly too, even though friendship is not usually expressed by a certain "physicalness". Perhaps this is what you meant, closeness such as hugs, handshaking and kisses... isn't it?

Ok then, now it's clear. Yes, I did notice this while living in England: for us is normal to invite somebody to our place, to walk to take them to bus stop or to share our things and situations. Anglosaxon populations, instead, usually misunderstand this behaviour thinking that there is something more "behind": for example, if you invite someone for dinner she/he may think that is a date, while it is just an occasion to spend time together and build up a friendship.

Then why didn't you write in a correct English? We have commonness with our friends, but, at least as far as I am concerned, I selct them so my real friends are just a few...
