We intend to visit the city of Rovigo but we don´t know if it is close than Venice and if there are many things to do there. (As my family was born in Rovigo I´d like to know the city). Thanks for your help.

you can hire a car when you are in Venice. You can get one in Mestre 10 min train from staation in Venice or get a train from Santa Lucia and go to Rovigo. The town of Rovigo is not as interesting as others you can visit in the area. Take some time to go to Padova and Treviso all of wich you can reach from Santa Lucia Train Station. ah... as I am a venetian be very carefull of what you buy in Venice. If you want to visit Murano furnace bare in mind the prices here are 3 to 4 times higher than in a shop in Venice. the suggestion is to shop around get good look at the prices do not get fooled by the first place you go to. Have anice stay and enjoy the wonderful town. Last suggestion: take a daily or weekly tickets for travaling on the boats in Venice. One single ticket costs 5 euro for non residents. Daily ones i think are 10 euro. best of luck

yes, from rovigo and venice are 40km, but in rovigo there is nothing to see. is the worst city in veneto. near rovigo you can see Adria, Porto Tolle and the Po river. why you don't go in Padova. is a very beautiful town... sorry for my english...

Shame on you Margareth!! Your family was born in Rovigo and you don't know where it is and you can't speak italian yet!! :P I'm joking! Rovigo is in the same region of Venezia (Veneto) 40 km far from the coast and about 60/70 km far from Venezia. For further informations about its geography, history and many other things I would suggest you to have a look here:

have a good time, enjoy Italy bye

P.S. come visit my beautiful Tuscany!!!
