* Jimi Hendrix had insisted on being the final performer of the festival and was scheduled to perform at midnight. Due to various delays, he did not take the stage until 9 A.M. on Monday morning. The crowd, estimated at over 500,000 at its peak, is reported to have been no larger than 80,000 when his performance began. His set lasted two hours -- the longest of his career -- and featured seventeen songs, concluding with "Hey Joe"; it was one of the most photogenic and talented performances, but it played to a relatively empty field. Para mí The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Santana y Jimmi Hendrix...
Aunque concuerdo con darkcreed en cuanto a la calidad de esas bandas, le debo señalar que Queen se formó en 1969, y tocó por primera vez en USA en 1974 y U2 se formó como 10 años después por lo que no pudieron haber tocado en Woodstock 69

VARIAS bandas asistieron al festival, muchas de ellas de gran renombre en su momento, otras gracias al festival alcanzaron la proyección que tanto buscaban.
Se considera que fue Jimmy Hendrix el más destacado, pues el fue quien cerró el festival, quien no recuerda la escena en que toca el himno de los estados unidos. Sin embargo hubo otras bandas que lo hicieron excelente y tambien se les recuerda con gran gusto, por ejemplo Crosby, Stills, Nash y Young cantando Black bird. Janis Joplin con Piece of my Heart. Jefferson Airplane cantando somebody to love y white rabbit. The Who, que en esa ocasión salieron al escenario muy molestos y casi agrediendo al respetable. Country Joe Mc Donald cantó la canción mitica del festival dedicada a la guerra de Vietnam. O la Actuación de Santana que prendió al publico e hizo que el propio Hendrix saliera de su camerino a ver que pasaba, quedando maravillado del nobel guitarrista que interpretaba Soul Sacrifice.
Creedence actuó, sin embargo por razones extrañas su participación no quedó documentada y muy pocos saben que Fogerty y compañía actuaron en el festival.
tenemos a Joe Cooker tambien, Ritchie Havens, The Band, Ravi Shankar, Grateful Dead, Sly and the Family Stone y Canned Heat (Quizas lo sepas, pero en el festival actuaron dos mexicanos, el primero fue Carlos Santana, y el segundo fue Fito de la Parra, baterista de Canned Heat)
