While translating english and german texts, esp. complicated and technical ones, it is usually the best strategy to preserve most of the grammar to avoid misunderstandings. The gerund "fireing" can be easily translated by using a passive construct. Everything else can be translated almost word by word.
Watch out for the technical terms! "einen Interceptor feuern" and "Interceptorbedienung" are radically different things. Bedienung implies some kind of user activity. You should be on the save side when you translate as directly as possible. Expert users are usually familiar with the english term and can identify the source and non-expert users don't understand you anyway. It might even be a good idea to put the original error message in brackets behind the german text, so experts can consult them for a second opinion.

I do not really know the context of this sentence, so this is the best I can give you. If firing an interceptor is the same as firing an transition, the upon translation should be fine.
