Excuse me for writing in English. If anybody can help me, I would appreciate it. Please let me know what youth culture involves in general and your own experiences. Grazie!

I have asked on the English Yahoo, and an Italian person suggested that I ask on yahoo.it....

It is for an essay, I am aware of some factors but I'm very interested to know more. Thank you for your answers, feel free to add anything else. Ciao ciao!

Hi there! I'm gonna write my own opinion about that issue but Italian youth culture is not the same in all the country. I'm 33 and I come from North-Est of Italy. One of the main difference between Italy and others European countries is due to the fact that they leave home when they are about 30 so they have light responsabilities and help from parents until they are adults. Mainwhile they get their own car, mobile phone, credit cards, smart clothes, etc. That also means they start working very late and if they attend Uni they rarely finish it before 25..They spend "their" money in expensive glamorous venues, gym, tecnology, etc. If they get married most of them don't go further 1-2 years. They travel a lot but they prefer a relaxing holliday in tropical places instead of a Capital City with museums etc.
I'm pretty different from my friends..I live alone since I was 18. I moved to London when I was 22 and I spent there 6 years working hard. I went back to Italy for a short time and then I moved to NY. At the moment I'm in Italy but soon I will be back to the States where I will move to Miami...so, as I said, that's what is going on in GENERAL, but it's not the same for everybody...
Take care!

Youth culture in Italy can be summarized this way: boys want to become football players or take part into the silly reality show "Big Brother". Girls want to become "veline", "letterine" and other silly ways beautiful dancers are called when taking part in several shows aired by commercial televion networks. Obviously most youths don't like studying and working hard! Too much effort, you know! One must never generalize, but ... sad to say , too many of them think and behave this way.
