¿La mejor banda de rock progresivo?

Es muy difícil decir cuál es la mejor.

Podría ser King Crimson, pues se trata de una banda que no ha bajado su nivel, quizá un poco en los ochentas. El solo hecho de ver a los integrantes que han pasado por la agrupación (siempre comandados por el mítico, Robert Fripp), nos deja muy en claro que siempre ha sido una especie de supergroup.

La etapa buena de Genesis, era cuando estaban Steve Hackett, Phil Collins,Peter Gabriel y Mike rutherford; después de la partia de Gabriel y posteriormente de Hackett, el grupo se tornó aburrido, y fue un adelanto de las aburridas carreras solistas de Phil collins y Mike Rutherford (con sus Mechanics).

No sé si Pink floyd sea la mejor banda de progresivo, pero es un hecho que ha sido la más publicitada junto con Genesis (el de la etapa de Phil Collins). Podría considerársele como lamejor, pues está entre las mejores bandas de la historia, puede haber grupos con mayorvirtuosismo que Pink Floyd, pero a final de cuentas, ellos fueron una banda "innovadora" (así como The Beatles o Led Zeppelin, y ahora Radiohead y U2), y ahí está la diferencia entre la grandeza de Pink floyd y el resto.

Y hay otras bandas que sería injusto omitir, como: Rush; Emerson, Lake & Palmer; Yes, Premiata Forneira Marconi (en vivo son otro p3do), Gentle Giant, Gong, Kansas (que son mucho más que "Dust In The Wind"), Le Orme (no acabo de digerirlos, para ser honesto), Deep Purple, Camel y Mahavishnu Orchestra (ésta me gusta bastante).

El caso de Dream Theater es muy singular, pues aunque esté formado por virtuosos línea por línea, no sé hasta qué punto se le puede considerar dentro de las mejores. Hay otras como Symphony X, que son una calca de Dream Theater.

Guns N' roses no es rock progresivo, es hard rock.

Queen es glam, sin embargo, hay una canción de ellos que definitivamente es de rock progresivo:Innuendo; empieza con un hard rock potente, seguido de un interludio de flamenco, posteriormente entra un vals y la ópera hasta que finalmente regresa a su escencia hard rockera... ¡Una maravilla de Queen!

Hay mucha gente que no ha escuchado ni a Pink floyd, y por eso se van con la finta de que The Mars Volta es una banda "revolucionaria" de la música... qué gran error.

Wow! no sabía que Collins estuviese en Génesis.

Guns'n Roses no es rock progresivo, no felaciones...
tampoco considero que Queen lo sea. (Qué es una gran banda, ni siquiera dudarlo).

Considero a Pink Floyd como el mejor (aunque no me guste mucho, confieso). Le sigue Yes y en tercero... habrémos de ver si Dream Theater sigue haciendo marca en la historia.
