It is true that (x-3)[x+7+13/(x-3)]=x²+4x-8
But that's not the correct answer. Your teacher wants a polinomial as a result and de remanent of the operation.

The correct answer is
(x²+4x-8)/(x-3) = x+7 witx remanent r(x)=15.

You can verify that (x-3)(x+7)+15=x²+4x-8

I'm in a place with no pencil nor paper sheets, but a nice and secure form to check your answer is to calculate the product of what you have got times x-3. At a first glance it looks correct, in the case where 13/x-3 means 13/(x-3), if you meant (13/x)-3 then your answer is incorrect.

best regards
