Necesitas tu pasaporte....la maleta llena ( teniendo en cuenta donde esta Peru y el tiempo y esas cosas), ademas las vacunas, para saber de que te tienes que vacunar aqui tienes la web del ministerio de sanidad :
http://www.msc.es/sanitarios/consejos/vacExt.do

Hi there Manny

Thanks for all the interesting things ou send. Now for an exciting
story.

I am currently in the Admirals club in Miami andcannot believe the past
few
hours really happened.
As I told you I went to Peru for a vacation and was there from the 9th
until
yesterday - 19th. Laura came with me and we had a great time - only bad
part
was that when we were at Lake Tittikaka we sat in the sun too long and
are
both really sunburned.
Anyhow, we took a domestic flight from Juliaka to Lima where we met
with the
tour company who had arranged to take us to a hotel for a few hours so
that
we could rest before the flight back home via Dallas which was to take
off
at 2 am. Anyhow, I had put my camera, my handbag, my sketch pad and
pencils
as well as several other special things I had collected on the trip in
the
small backpack that I had taken with me. The agency collected us in a
small
van and Laura and I were in the back as we travelled from the airport
into
Lima. The trip includes a portion of one of the really bad areas of
Lima -
there are many of those as there are 10 million people there and most
of
them live in slums or similar. As we were travelling along there was a
lot
of traffic and it moved very slowly. I decided to check the itinerary
and
took my tickets and the passports out of the bag to look at them. As I
was
doing this there was a tremendous bang - we thought at first that
someone
had shot at the van. The side window shattered into millions of pieces
and
the next thing someone can crashing through the window. At first I
thought
he might have been shot next to the van - I was wrong, he was a thief
and
had broken the window. He leapt into the van through the window,
grabbed my
bag and was gone in a flash. It was really startling - not to mention
very
frightening.

There was nothing that we could do as there was heavy traffic and the
driver
had to keep moving. We went to the police statin and they were terrible
-
when the woman from the travel group asked the officer in charge to
file a
report he refused and made a comment to the effect that 'it was just
turistos, not importante' The police in Peru are all very corrupt and I
think that there are probably more crooks in the police force than out
of
it.

anyhow, I lost all my pictures, my digital camera, two very expensive
handbags that I had in the backpack, my drivers licence, credit cards,
lots
of other things etc - however, the good part is that I had drawn some
money
at the airport and had my wallet with a back up credit card with me.
Also
because I had the passports and tickets we were able to go back to the
airport and get on another earlier plane out of there. Believe me, I
have
had enough of Lima to last me for a while.

Maybe it is something to do with Peru - I do not seem to have good
experiences regarding that place. (remember the saga of the mirrors
etc)

Anyhow, hope you enjoyed the story - chilling when you think that if
the
thief had not found my bag so easily he might have stayed in the van
and
demanded money or something. Either way, things could have been worse.
Of
course, when I called Glenn to cancel credit cards etc he was happy to
point
out that he had told me not to go to Peru and that it is a third world
country. I must admit, it is a place that is obviously not safe - there
is
so much poverty there and the people are dissatisfied in many ways. I
enjoyed Machu Picchu etc but do not plan to return there in a hurry.

Love to all

Carla
