I'm very happy to hear that Bush was defeated and that Rumsfeld resigned. I think that Bush's foreign politics was completely wrong, and now Americans punished him.
Bye

Hope to see a deep change in USA relations towards the other Countries, first of all towards the Arabic World. I disegreed with the Iraqi War and I think USA international policy has not solved the most important international issues... Hope that President Bush might understand this simple and objective truth.

We wait for electoral race results. We don't follow it daily.
May be most of us don't even know exactly what this elections are for (I'm kidding: House+1/3 Senate).

I have read that mid-terms elections have a not so strong effect on overall politics. I don't know why and if itìs true.

Main concern in Europe about american politics is war in Iraq.
But I don't think that election results will influence very much this.
Elections could end with a Democratic majority in the Congress, or at lest in the House (so you''ll have a Democratic Congress and a Republic President), but:
if Republicans win, they could begin to consider about a different conduct in the war (Bush and his choices are getting to be an awkard burden for GOP)
if Democratics win (theorically they could reject expenditure approval), it will be not so easy to retire troops anyway.

So not so "great expectations" here.

I'm happy that Bush got his ass kicked. I hope that now the U.S. will be less pro-war and more friendly with other states that don't share their ideas. I also hope that they'll become more environment-friendly and sign the Kyoto protocol and start thinking of themselves not only like americans but like citizens of the world.
