La pantera rosa es de origen norteamericano, su creador fue el director de animación Fritz Freleng, al cual el productor de películas Blake Edwards le pidió, diseñar un cartoon de un gato con el titulo de su nueva comedia llamada "The Pink Panther" una película protagonizada por Peter Sellers como un detective francés llamado Clouseau.

Pink Panther Show # 24
The Pink Panther is a health drink chemist, troubled by a contrary dot on an
advertising board. The dot insists on being green instead of the panther's
preferred pink. From the French Riviera to Piccadilly Circus to Venice to
the African jungle, the Inspector and Sergeant Deux-Deux hunt a clever and
evasive agent who claims to have information that the Inspector's life is in
danger. On the Western frontier, the Pink Panther works as a traveling
vendor of pep pills, unwittingly selling some of them to a frail criminal,
who gains the strength to rob every bank in a nearby town.
