I can't understand french! I'm a native from brazil...
And I want so many to learn french... but I can't...
Why french is so hard to learn?!!?

because french is a very complete language and it's as unlogical as the french are ;)
I live in the french part of switzerland and even if we speak french, it is not the same as them. More logical in the construction of the words and so on...
The best way to learn french is to come in switzerland or in belgium because in france people don't speak english very much, so it is more difficult to speak english if needed.
Nevertheless, after a certain level in the learning of the language I really advise you to find a french correspondant on Internet or by regular mail.

coz you are NOT learning it with a nice partner preferably who first language is NOT yours and who is better at French than you - it wasn't boring ass classes that got my french up to vying standards, it was lovely Chinese student studying French, we shared apartment and HAD to speak in French, as she was better than me I was always being gently corrected, after 6 months I left France at that comfort level, which is where you are longer embarrassed to open your mouth or watch tv.

French is hard to learn for someone that has not learned it during his childhood. the grammar is a bit hard, spelling too.

Hey, you are not doing so bad since you already do pretty good in english. Eu quero aprender a falar na sua lingua, to consiguiendo con dificuldade mais no vo desistir e scuta so...
Todo el mundo piensa que su idioma es el más dificil de aprender para el mundo entero asi que..keep trying, just keep trying, you´ll get there!!!

French is not hard, but the way it's taught is wrong.
For instance, i always thought german was hard to learn, because my teachers were not involved in the way they were teaching. I've been learning german for 11 years, and i'm not able to make a sentence. In the other hand, i learned swedish and danish during 6 months, and i can assure you i'm able to have a conversation in swedish/danish...
Pedagogy is the key.

French is a latin language you should understand some words, but i know it's hard to learn french but if you work very much you should speak french, don't worry. Every language is difficult to learn.

the thing is that people who try to learn french don't do it in the best way. they try to learn "typical" sentences such as how r u, or what time is it, but actually you really need to focus more on the grammar. this is a very important part of the french language, once you get it, you get everything.

Hard to learn compared to what ?? ANY language is hard to learn ;) And French is particularly hard because the grammar can be very confusing. There are so many rules, and even more exeptions !!

Why ?
English is very easy to learn ! But french is a little bit difficult with the rules !
don't be afraid, if you really want to learn it, you can reach a level little by little! the same as I do before!
Just as I've done, speak with you neighbore or try to learn it in the net,
the practice is the only key !
Try to have a friend in the net who can speak the language you know (english) for example, and french language!
in this case, I can help you ! I'm not native but I learnt it 10 days ago!
