Es una mezcla de arena, cenizas del volcán Popocatepetl, líquido y aire, estos cuatro elementos incluidos entre dos cristales.
O al menos eso es lo que pone en la dirección que copio más abajo.
"What we call ACUARENAS is a mixture of sand, ashes from Popocatepetl volcano, which erupts these days, liquid and air. These four elements are enclosed between two glasses and when you turn the frame up-down, sand and ashes falls appear in the liquid. The sand and ashes are retained by air bubbles and fall slowly down to the bottom. The fall goes more or less fast according to the quantity of air you want to inject with a syringe in through the frame.

The obtained landscapes are magnificent, they represent mountain ranges and color of ashes looks like shades and gives a really surprising effect of depth. Each time you turn the frame you will obtain a landscape totally different to the previous ones. To look these falls and to wait for the final landscape is so relaxing that it is easy to spend hours watching it.
This product is totally handmade and contains no toxic element"
