Hi, I work in Genoa and I love it.
If you can, save at least a couple of days for your visit, and don't miss a tour of the historic town with a guide, sometimes you can also find nightly tours, it's beautiful.
I point you two WWW links, one to the touristic section of the town site, one to a magazine where you can read what's happening in town; sorry, both are in italian.

for me no...is dirty is better a small town near on the est side or west side...

yes its beautiful it was my hometown for 3 yrs ( from when i was 6-9) i love it and miss it!!!

Genova is a nice place..... you can visit the Genova acquarium, believe me its very beautiful....
