wearing card board in the sole of your shoes when you got a hole so the water and snow would not come in??? we were so poor!!!!!!

Oh hell yes! Cardboard and then plastic bags..OMG my feet would be frozen...Tina and my boots would be to big..so I would stuff the toes with tissue! I am LMAO!

Yes, and if you got some extra money, you went to the Shoe Maker to re-sole or re-heel them.

Sure do, and those shoes were probably hand-me-downs. Us kids never cared about it though.

i sure do...had hand-me-down cloths also. i hope future generations can do better, but i'm beginning to have my doubts, with the economy going in the direction it is.
