We have personality because we are human beings.
Personality is the way we act & react.
It is the language, culture, behind they way we act.
It can be shown in the way we dress, groom, dance, sing.
We can choose different aspects of our personality. We can work on bad features that we do not like in ourselves.
We can speak, either by mouth, writing, sign language & they can ALL show our personality.
We are each a Unique Person.
We all want to be accepted for the most part.
We all want to find friends that will have us around, because they LIKE our PERSONALITY.

Personalities are largely role defined, but other determinants are hormonal balance, gender, ethnicity, culture, energy state, nutrition, and environment, particularly the other personalities that the unit is in relationship to. Gordon Alport literally wrote the book on it, and that book is "Patterns and Growth in Personality".

a combination of our genetic expression and a culmination of our past experiences.
I don't have a good theory on the actual workings of HOW we can have more than one.... just reasons to have more than one.
