because merely being a theist and knowing about basic bible doctrine doesn't necessarily mean you are actually a "believer" in the biblical sense of the word (although you may be a believer in the sense that you acknowledge God's authority...even demons believe in that way). If you believe as the bible says it means that you trust God enough to let him lead you in life (It's a relationship like between father and son). It's not merely saying God is there and blah blah blah....

"Christians" should really get more honest with themselves

Yes, I do not only believe in God. I read his word and believe it. The more I read and pray the better understanding I have.

We all start out as "infants" in our relationship with God. The closer relationship we have with God the more we are able to let him lead us.

To understand what a true Christian is, then you have to look at his/her living and compare it to the Word of God. Jesus said that we have to look at the kind of fruits the tree is producing. Too many people are being deceived in the world and sometime I don't know what to say to make them see the truth because the heart is harden through sin.

If you were to examine my life, you would find obedience in my life to the will of God, though I don't claim perfection. If the Lord says, go here or go there to save the lost, then if I am Christ like I will go. If the Lord says, love your neighbor as yourself and I don't then I am a liar. Consider the Scriptures: "5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth." (1 John 1:5-6). But foremost, I must love the Lord and put His will before all things, loving Him with all my heart, soul and mind.

You cannot separate love and obedience (John 14:15). They both go hand in hand. Christians are slaves of righteousness, while the world are slaves of sins. My heart always compels me to do the will of God and sometimes it is very difficult. Yet, we know that if we hold firm to the end, then there is a crown of righteousness awaiting us (Rev 2:10).

I was not born a Christian; I was a member of a denomination. Yet, I yearned to know the Lord and through much prayer I found Him. Now, I cannot linger in the things I formerly did anymore, but I live for Christ who died for me.

I understand what you are saying. It's believing in Jesus by the way. However, in the bible believers did stray off and do dumb stuff. Its all in the new testament. So just because Someone still struggle with sin doesn't mean they are not saved.
But I do agree with you that we should all pray from God to make us realize His love more and respect Him more.

But everyone has to start some where and everyone grows a little in the Lord every day.
For some calling God Father comes easier and more naturally, while for others it tales a long while.
But God is patient and understanding.

The word of GOD is the guidance of life.I have read the word and have listened to many preachers of the word and I am a total beleiver in the word.
Since time began the word of GOD has been disputed and will forever be disputed as long as there are non beleivers.

Yes, I do trust God completely. At very difficult times in life I have prayed for guidance and strength to cope and help has always been given.

I am totally thankful.

I think I know what you mean.

I used to call myself a Christian.

But as I became older, and more mature, I realized that in fact, I didn't really "believe." I thought of religion as a game; you win, you go to "Heaven," you die, you go to "Hell."

By all means, it was a game, to me.

I stopped playing.

I realized that inside, I was, and always will be, an atheist. No scripture can change that.

There's a difference, nonetheless. You can believe in God, or you can believe in what Man says about God. The two are, in essence, completely different things.

I believe that Jesus is Who He says He is, and that He can and will do what He promised to do.
I know in Whom I have believed....
God is not my co-pilot...He's the One driving.
