there is alot of paperwork involved that is difficult to read through but ultimately it comes down to the fact that they are still pilots and pilots wear helmets, glasses and have a parachute...
in most cases the equipment of a kamikaze pilot will be the cheap kind...helmets that already have been in a crash...10 dollar glasses from the mall and a parachute that didnt open the last time someone tried...so in the end you could consider it a kind of recycling of useless materials....

..so that they will not be mistaken as commercial pilots..and they can use the helmet or flying caps to cover their face just before crashing...lol
