The two olive trees, the two sons of oil.
Zech 4:3
And there are two olive trees beside, one to the right of the bowl and one to the left.

Can you make a connection to this verse in Matthew 25:7-9
Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their own lamps

And the foolish said to the prudent, Give us some of your oil for our lamps are going out.

But the prudent answered saying, Prehaps there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to those who sell and buy for yourselves.

These sons of Oil.. Moses and Elijah have an important part to play during the great tribulation.
Do you make any connection with these references I posted?
If you do.. care to share?

Thank You for taking the time to do this.

Rev 11:3-4
And I will cause My two witnesses to prophesy a thousand two hundred and sisty days , clothed in sackcloth.

These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands which stand before the Lord of the earth.

Moses represents the Law and Elijah represents the leadership of the prophets. Jesus came to fulfill both the Law and the prophets. And through His risen Spirit, indwelling within us, He writes upon our hearts, His Word, which includes the Law and prophet-like leadership.

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." -- Matt 5:17-19

Remember when Peter was revealed on who He was when Jesus took him up on the mountain, Moses and Elijah appeared next to Jesus, then disappeared with Jesus left standing before Peter. (Matthew 17:1-6) This transfiguration was meant to show Peter that Jesus alone came to fulfill the Law and the prophets.

What a wonderful God we serve when he reveals to us His nuggets of wisdom, little by little, line by line, from precept to precept, FROM GLORY TO GLORY! I am blessed to have you as a sister in Christ and thankful for fellowship with you! Thank you for laboring in the field and being faithful to His Word!

Just heard a teaching about the virgins who didn't have oil and went away. the oil is representative of the Spirit, they looked like Christians but didn't have the Spirit and therefore were not prepared to meet the bridegroom. there light was shining along with those who had the oil but in due time they were exposed for what they really were. to answer your question with regards to the 2 witnesses, I believe that Moses and Elijah are the exact ones without naming them. We will see when the Lord comes for His bride.

Certainly Tim Lahaye did in his series. I had wondered why he chose Moses, Elijah was a given. No one can truly say Moses died as all left him in the wilderness. His death would serve no purpose. I fancy Enoch as he too never tasted death. But, I think we will see the two sons of oil be from the leadership of God's people. Moses would count and Enoch would not. Other good canidates would be Elisha, any Disciple as well as Samuel.
