political candidates? I say no, they are a small minority.

Steve J, what I mean is that when people like Mitt Romney step forward to explain his religion, subject of much controversy, he doesn't deserve to have some whiny atheist on TV saying they were slighted. As if any religious person would give a shout out to atheists. How ludicrous!!

If they are such a minority why do they have more rights than us Christians and are able to take ours away?
I do agree that they should not have parity in the political campaigns!

What do you a saying exactly? do you mean should they be represented? That is a bit like affirmative action for campaign speeches.
I believe that if there was an atheist running that they should be allowed to say what they are for. .. if that is what you mean, but other than that I am not sure what your getting at.

as to Steve's answer "So, you apparently disagree with our founding fathers who believed church and state should be separate."

Where exactly in the constitution can you find that Steve?

Steve,l im saying that opinions that were not put in official documents have no bearing on what is required or legal in campaign speeches regardless of the veracity of your statement.

Freedom of religion is a guarantee by a government for freedom of belief for individuals and freedom of worship for individuals and groups. It is generally recognized to also include the freedom not to follow any religion.

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Shouldn't they get the same as everyone else? Isn't that what this country was built on. Liberty and Freedom? I also believe they are a bigger part of society than you think. Close minded people, such as yourself, should be excluded in participating in anything that has to do with policy making for this great nation.

So, you apparently disagree with our founding fathers who believed church and state should be separate.
I see.
Well, I believe all Americans should have the same opportunities regardless of their religion.
Sorry, that was probably too open-minded for you.
Majority rules, but minority is heard.

He doesn't deserve it? Well, given that atheists have the 1st Amendment rights, they are allowed to do it, and cannot be reprimanded for doing it.

Sociald... it is not in the constitution. I didn't say it was. But if you don't know that Separation of Church and State was a standard to live by introduced by our founding fathers, then you are an ignorant man.

No and they should not have parity in the court system, Atheist and Agnostics are the reason you have a dysfuntional society today. Some day at the time of their death they will believe.
