Maybe you should listen with your ears and not your *ss.

The problem isn't believing in God, because lots of them do to. It's actually living your life the way God says, not just pointing a finger, casting judgements on others and then doing those very same thing in the privacy of your home (or airport bathroom).

The same thing I would tell a conservative or Republican if they told me that believing in God is Foolish. It is their opinion and I am not a fool. If believing in a Supreme Being is foolish than most of the world is foolish including such famous people as Albert Einstein.

There is nothing wrong with having faith. It's none of their business. I am a liberal democrat. I support the people. It really is that simple. I work and the only assistance I receive is financial aid (unsubsidized) for my part-time MBA program. The Republicans are liars and manipulators. Anyone can cut the budget with cutting costs. It doesn't take a particularly bright person to do that. It takes a very smart person to do more with less. It takes a strong and influential person to say no to the special interests. (bridge to nowhere. I doubt very much that a liberal democrat is for that program. that sounds like a republican program.)

Why say anything, just ignore them. But, anybody can be a jerk - doesn't take any political party. What do you do when a republican tells you that believing in God is foolish - or do the non-religious only exist in the democratic party?

Gonna have to agree with Ricky T, sorry guys. Didn't know there were more of us around.

I don't really find a belief in God foolish, but rather all the additional baggage that comes with it.

When an athiest says this to me I simply look at them and say you believe with all your mind and heart there is no God I believe with all my heart and mind there is a God, so both of our lives are built around a belief what makes mine foolish

First, there are atheists that are Republican and conservative, too, just as there are very religious people who are liberal and Democrat. So stop the partisan asshattery.

The militant atheists (which is not all the atheists here) on this site specifically go out of their way to tell us how smart and intelligent they are (I guess they need the affirmation?) and how stupid and irrational the rest of us are.

One has to wonder about the mindset of someone who feels the need to do that.

I say,"Science without religion in lame, and religion without science is blind." (Albert Einstein)--------Whom else would know better. It is unarguable. Science dictates something cannot come from nothing.
I was recently arguing with my father-in-law about God's existence and he claimed I was CRAZY for believing in a higher power. I said..,"Where did the original elements come from then?". He then raved ,"EXIST!!!",EXIST!!!, they just EXISTED!!!" I then calmly said, "Now that is the craziest thing I've ever heard.". Exist? that's the bottom line? now that is crazy. He decided it was time to leave LOL. Ironically enough as he lay in the Hospital with chest pain 1 year earlier and thought he was dieing the nurse asked him his religion He boldly replied," Well I'm a Catholic of course!" and insisted on receiving last rights.

They better hope they are right, because if they are wrong, then the consequences won't be pretty.

I say believing that random inanimate chemicals magically sprang to life without the influence of God is foolish. I say believing in the "Big Bang", which scientists admit is impossible because it violates all laws of physics, is foolish.
