Bob Probert and Darren McCarty. Probert would just punch until his hand started hurting, then switch hands. McCarty would go in and stand up for his team and beat the snot out of any player that tried to mess with his boys.
john g: I would have mentioned him but I wasn't born until after he retired in the 80's. I have no idea what his fighting style looks like.

I liked a lot of the old middleweights. Most of the fights today are just two guys hanging on and waiting for the big knockout.
Stan Jonathan. 120 punches a minute.

Curt Fraser. Lots of one-punch wins.
Terry O'Reilly. Beat up most of the Broadstreet Bullies.
Gordie Howe (not a middleweight at the time). No one went near him.

Toughest guy who could play at a high level, too? Bob Probert. Best enforcer in league history, in my opinion.
Scariest guy today? Boogard. Literally scary.
My favorite guy was George McPhee in the 80's. He was the fearless little guy who regularly decimated bigger dudes on behalf of the Rangers.
