I don't understand why people tell you to pray when your going through such hardships? If God really cared about us then why does he allows us to become so sick and have such hardships and not help us? Why would a person want to pray to Him if one feels their being punished? Who is to say he really listens anyway.

praying is communication..and well you can't have a relationship with out 'communication' now can you.... and here's a little tid bit for you "WE ARE NOT IN HEAVEN" so of course there will be sorrow and sickness and just like we turn to our parents in these moments for comfort and help so He wants us to turn to Him also for comfort and help...He desires to make Himself known to each of us....And everything cannot always be coming up roses this is life and we can't blame Him for everything awful, when's the last time you had a super day with lots of love and hugs or everything went your way and told Him
thanks .......but the minute things go wrong , rarrrrrrrrr.....

You pray to make yourself a fool, pray who? Pray or beg?
if praying is infront of live person or live thing can bring some change, but what is praying to someone who doesn't exist or who is not even know. Praying to unknown, non-existing god, or idol, or entity can bring only superstitions and it makes you weak. It has no science behind it except blind faith.

The purpose of prayer is not to change God's mind. God does not change. The purpose of prayer is to align your thoughts to God to gain perceptions of purpose so that you will better understand and be able to accept changes occurring in your life.

hi, we have to first understand that their is a power greater than ourselves and that power is god, which can be anything.when you have a problem and sit by yourself and try to analyze the problem by talking to your conscience at times you do get an answer and I feel that the answer comes from a power greater than myself and that is god. when you pray, you listen to your conscience and you do get your answers and you get instant relief.
