Well, if a husband buys the virgin pregnancy story, yes, he's ripe for anything.

Most people are able to compartmentalize their religion and their rationality, so belief in the Virgin Birth does not automatically meen 'gullible mark'.

Well, I'm not ripe for anything you seem to be suggesting.

.... Only the truth... what is so hard to believe about it? I find it much harder to believe that the universe just started on it's own, got organized and the funniest is that life started on it's own.

For example Chandra Wickramasinghe is not a believer in God and specializes in “astro biology” and I have heard him at different times come to these conclusions about life on earth, either it came in a space craft as spores, originated on another planet and arrived as a meteor or recently that it originated in some comet… and they say Christians are denying reality… :-)

Here are his calculations on the origin of life.
http://www.actionbioscience.org/newfrontiers/wickramasinghe/wick_hoyle.html
"The bacteria present on Earth in its early days required about 2000 such enzymes, and the chance that a random shuffling of already-available amino acids happens to combine so as to yield all the required 2000 enzymes is 2000! [10**-250]**2000
which works out at odds of one part in about 10**500,000 ,
...
The number has been reduced from 2000 to 256 (an amazing but illusory degree of accuracy). Additionally one can reduce the lengths of required chains of amino acids. Suppose, for example, one reduces the length as much as tenfold, to only 30 links. Then the chance of obtaining such a severely sawndown enzyme is
256! [10-25]276 .
Neglecting the effect of the factorial, this amounts only to one part in 10**6900, still not a bet one would advise a friend to take. For comparison, there are about 10**79 atoms in the whole visible universe, in all the galaxies visible in the largest telescopes. This comparison shows in our opinion that life must be a cosmological phenomenon, not at all something which originated in a warm little terrestrial pond."

1 in 10**6900 or 1in 10 with 6900 zeroes.... life from spaceships or comets or random chance, finding truth by looking within themselves, even though they are the ones consufed ... I guess people will buy some weird stuff.

Some quotes I like....

"The principle of [divine] purpose ... stares the biologist in the face wherever he looks ... . The probability for such an event as the origin of DNA molecules to have occurred by sheer chance is just too small to be seriously considered ... ."Ernst Boris Chain - Nobel Prize in medicine

"Christ died for men precisely because men are not worth dying for; to make them worth it." - C.S. Lewis

"Truth is absolute and knowable and must be searched for diligently, but many will try to hide it, deny it or muddy it." - Bai Leung.

"In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." -- George Orwell

I hope you can "buy" the truth.

If you mean that Jesus was born of a virgin.....
Yes, I do believe God's word.
God is able to do this.
Think about how humbling this was for God the Son to do.
And He did it for man.
It is His marvelous plan for our salvation-----Jesus gave His life for sinners (He was the only sinless one to do this) and arose from the dead to prove His Deity. There are over 500 witnesses to His resurrection.

Yep! They sure are! And they also believe that dinosaurs roamed the earth at the same time as humans. My brother believes both of these ideas. And he's supposedly smart.....an eye doctor! It's amazing what people will believe.

They are easy marks for multi level marketing schemes too.

So you can only believe something if you understand exactly how it happens? A virgin can be a surrogate mother. Be more specific

It could have been true, who knows? If you don't understand how something happens, doesn't mean it can't happen.

As a matter of fact, if you close your mind and think that it could not have happened because you do not understand how it happened, you will not go far in anything you study!

what virgin "story"? If you cant believe the truth of religion, you dont beleive anything that you cant prove with your intellect and reason, therefore you have no faith.
