Well, i don't know what it means for the US, but for Australia it means we're going to have to think of something else to use as an argument instead of "The US made him do it".

Shame really, i was quite getting fond of using it.

It means nothing for the USA. Australia's ratifying of the Kyoto Protocol will probably make the Majority of the citizens of the Australia happy, and pulling out 550 troops will look good for the Aussies, other than that Americans will go about their lives and not notice any change in their lives. I dont even think most of the people in the US realize what the Kyoto Protocol is. The US has actually signed the Kyoto Protocol, they just havent ratified it for various reasons, which isn't popular for the rest of the world, but makes good sense for the people of the US.

Less love 'down under'? I wasn't even aware Australia still had a military presence in Iraq. It currently has 1,000 soldiers in Iraq, compared to the 168,000 and the United Kingdom's 5,250. Hopefull the Poles can do double shifts.

Let's see... I've almost got it... I'm working... Oh, that's right: nothing. Australia is not part of the United States of America.

Oh, wait, there won't be as much Vegamite in Iraq.

it should show that the other countries of the world and especially the coalition forces are beginning to wake up to the fact that to align yourself with the US is not the thing to do anymore best to stand on your own and stop us from letting you enjoy things you do not understand nor want such as democracy you must fight to be free not fight to free others
