Being weird is not that bad if your mom loves him and he loves her. The most important is that he is not abusive. If he is then something needs to be done.

You can't do anything. Your mom is a big girl and she decided to marry this guy despite his "weirdness". He has a thing for Kermit, big deal. If he were abusive, a liar, or a cheat then I can understand your dilemma. But from your question his only "problem" is he's weird to you. If he's a bad guy your mom will hopefully get out of the relationship on her own. So leave her be. Her happiness should be the only thing you're concerned about.

Why interfere with your mom's happiness. She knows full well that you won't be there for her forever and soon enough will be off with a life of her own. Perhaps these things that you personally find so offensive she finds as cute. Or maybe he has other assets that you are not aware of that your mom has taken a shine to. This is suppose to be a happy time for your mother so please do not ruin it for her. Even if you are not that excited for her maybe you can at least act like you are. Someday you will also be an adult and hopefully your children will not attempt to tell you how to run your life. Good luck to your mom and her new man. And I do also hope that you also can befriend this male as he is going to be a part of your life for a long while whether you like it or not.

Seriously now, if the only threat this man poses to you is embarrassment, that's pretty cute and one day, trust me, you will laugh even fondly at the memory. For now, you can get your money's worth of eyerolling sympathy from all your friends :-).

(Once people are well past childhood, they often "reattach" themselves with some fun childhood character. He's not all that unusual in that regard.)

If, however, you are speaking in safe code and actually feel some personal fear about his "weirdness", you must address this with your mother and/or another close relative right away.

Other than that, he might just be fun to be with. Your mom seems to think so. So let the games begin!

His crime is liking a frog, naming his car and wearing a green tuxedo? Sounds like a funny guy. You should appreciate that your mom found somebody who's major character flaw is a love for an old muppet character. It could be worse, he could be the coolest guy ever but likes to bury women in the woods every few years.

The previously mentioned advise to grow up is best. Be happy that your mom is happy and be even happier that his quirk is so... non-threatening.

Question: Does he ever tell you that it's not easy being green? MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

grow up and deal. maybe you don't want your mom to marry him because you feel that he will be number 1 in her life? you need to respect the fact that your mom would choose to marry someone based on love and good things. and you should be thankful that she is the kind of person that looks past physical appearance and other superficial things.

Do you know why he likes Kermit? Is it a hobby of his. I am sure your step dad will be wondering about you also.

Why not get to know him better. Go out for some quality time. Mall shopping or a cup of cocoa/coffee with him at some coffee shop.

You get to sit back, and enjoy the fact that your mother is marrying a wonderful man. Be thankful she found someone nice. She could be marrying someone that beats her.

You don't say how old you are. I agree that its more than a little creepy but if your no longer living with your mom than as concerned as you are it's unfortunately none of your business. That being said, have you talked to your mom about your concerns? What is her response? Have you asked him what his obsession is with Kermit? Whats his response. If the wedding is bound to happen.... maybe for a shower gift you could get your mom an hour of therapy to help her figure out why she's attracted to someone like that.

Grow up. Your Mom deserves to be happy. Leave them alone.
