I seriously doubt it. I think there will be a lot of different winners next year, from several teams.

The cool thing about the COT is that it puts everybody on equal footing for the first time since the late 80's/early 90's.. I think that the team that has the most testing time will have the advantage early on in the season, but everybody else will catch up by the Pepsi 400.
Obviously Hendricks is the team to watch. Personally, I think that Clint Bowyer is a very good candidate for being able to pull that off. I can also see DEI making a comeback with Mark Martin driving the #8.

Was this season a fluke?
Was the 10 wins by the 48 team effort?Or was it something else?
There are so many unknowns that we the casual fan will not know.
I have never been a fan of "mega" or "superteams".these do not enhance racing but the opposite they destroy the sport.
When the green flag drops the best 43 drivers race.We the fans (for the most part) pay to watch a race involving all 43 cars. But in todays mega and super teams the race becomes a 6 to 8 car race and the rest of the field is no existant.
The broadcasters and media focus on the same few cars and only notes others if the spin or wreck.
Will some one win 10 next year?I don't know but if certain teams suddenly win multipal times in the first half the season the political wheels of NASCAR are rolling again.

Very unlikely. It's been nearly 10 years since the last time a driver had double digit wins. Next year w/ the COT being run full time it is doubtful that HMS will have the same dominance that they did this year. Also, there are just TOO many good drivers out there. That being said, if someone were to get to 10 wins in '08, they are probably going to be an HMS or Rousch driver.

It isn't likely because whenever something happens like that, the other teams are going to work harder to be competitive with the #48 team. There were several drivers who had a very good season, just Johnson's team had an even better season. Guys like Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, and Jeff Gordon are all thinking about the mistakes they made and how to avoid them, and they will be stepping up next year to do better. There are 49 great drivers in the Cup series, and any one of them could have a run of better luck.
You also have to add in the facter that some of the newcomers will be improving on their own racing, adding even more to the competition. JPM, Martin Truex, and Kyle Busch, for instance, are always learning more and getting better at their driving skills.

I don't think any driver will win 10 races next year & seriously doubt Kenseth will even come close to 10. Someone said they thought Kenseth would if he picks up where he left off this season. Winning the last race of the season will not give you any momentum for next season. The most wins for a driver next season will be either 5 or 6 or 7 tops.

It's not going to happen next year. Johnson got extremely lucky in pulling off 10 wins this year. If any other driver other than his team mate had been behind him at the first Martinsville race, he would have gotten wrecked. And several of his wins this year were down right lucky calls. Not taking anything away from his season, but he won all of the gambles he took. Don't look for another team to have that kind of luck again next year.

I am a Tony Stewart fan and I was pretty inpressed with the Hendrix Motorsports team this year as they pretty well won every race if not JJ it was Flaming boy. JJ had a great year and he kept the car on the track with no DNF's and thats what you need to do to win. 10 wins is a tall order and will there be another? Its hard to say, but with the COT it is really going to be tough as they are pretty much set up the same, just have to rely on driver and motors and your pit crew and the almighty luck. I think JJ will keep that little mark for some time.

Why would your question make someone mention pitying JG?
Please see if you can ask a question without spewing out your hatred of Gordon.
By the way - 24 will get 10 in 08

well with the 2008 season being the cot car every race, theres going to be alot of teams still not fully comfortable with the change. While other teams like hendrick will be locked and loaded. Classic case of the have and have nots. There will be a ten race winner next year hopefully dale jr.
