Is it possible to do all these things? I want to be happier, more confident and more outgoing. I'm too reserved with people and not very trusting. I'm shy. I hate it. I'm a "nice guy" which means I'm not very successful with women (I'm 20 and not the best looking guy). I want to be more confident, but not arrogant.

Is this impossible? What do I do?

First, cast out the inner negative thoughts. Get rid of old demons.
Second, start with a new wardrobe.
Third, find out what makes you not good with women. Talk with a platonic woman friend. She will set ya straight.
Fourth, a sense of humor is imperative with women. Read a good joke book.
Fifth, Learn how to flirt. Be playful. Women love a guy who flirts with them. Tell them how nice they look. Did you lose weight?
Sixth, Make suggestions,,,ask her for input.

I too am shy basically ( i am a woman). For along time I had a hard time talking to people because of what I thought "they" would think about me.
I have learned as I have gotten older (52) that now I don't really care as much about those "other people". They to have their very own insecurities.
Find some thing that you like to do and volunteer to do something with that group. This is a great icebreaker as you are all trying to accomplish the same thing. This can help to play upon your strengths. Through volunteerism, you give of your time and energy and learn many things about yourself that maybe you didn't realize before.
Try joining a church group ( if that is your thing) or something that you just like to do. I have found some very good friends through one organization that I have been a member of for about 20 years.
You might think about taking some sort of speech class. There is nothing harder than to get up before a group of people and make a speech. Take some college class or just some continuiting education classes to meet people.
The most important thing is to act like you ARE SURE OF YOURSELF!!!! Remember, people won't bite you, the worst they can do is to walk off or ignore you. Then you have to keep on trying. Eventually you WILL START TO FEEL COMFORTABLE AROUND PEOPLE AND FEEL MORE CONFIDENCE!!!!!
Good luck and hang in there!!! Most importantly, DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!
