Okay, my question is because he also was raised by white grandparents and hi supporters tought him as th efirst Black president. I don't care if he is Black, but I don't understand why that is all he is as far as race. I guess I'm thinking Tiger Woods.

First of all, I don't think Obama has chosen to run as a "black candidate," he's simply running for president and just happens to be black. I don't think he's made it into a big issue, its American society (both whites AND blacks) along with the media that have made it an issue. And in the old days, anyone with even a drop of black blood in them was considered black and I think that stereotype persists today. Tiger Woods is one quarter Chinese, one quarter Thai, one quarter African American, one eighth Native American, and one eighth Dutch yet I think most people in this country regard him as a black man!

Unless Black is a new political party, he's running as a Democrat.

People judge people by the color of their skin. Also, back in the day of Jim Crow you were considered black if you had a drop of black blood in you, so it's also based on past thought.
